what steel are railway rails made of?

It is produced in linear and universal rail and structural steel mills by hot rolling from grade 76 carbon steel and microalloyed grades 76F, 76C and 76T steel. Standard cut is 12.5 m. Dimensions: height - 180 mm, head width - 75 mm, sole width - 150 mm. Due to the requirements regarding high mechanical properties, rail sections are mainly made of high-carbon steels, characterized by high strength and hardness, high resistance to abrasion and cracking, and low plasticity.
