Heat resistance

The ability of a material to resist gas corrosion at elevated temperatures. In order to increase the heat resistance of steel, alloy additions such as chromium, silicon and aluminum are used. Heat resistance of steel is obtained by creating a compact and well-adhering layer of oxides on its surface.
