Erosion resistance

The type and condition of this layer have a decisive influence on the material's resistance to abrasion (mechanical erosion). Material abrasion therefore comes down to the process of destruction (wear) of the layer in question as a result of the mechanical and corrosive impact of solid particles or liquids with high kinetic energy.
